Champions Live Here Spotlight: SPY, School on Wheels, SIPA, Sisters of Watts, and Teen Line

Following Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium on February 13, Annenberg Alchemy for Champions will bring together the 56 “unsung hero” nonprofits from the Champions Live Here Legacy Program for specialized training. We can’t wait to welcome these leaders! Today, we’re spotlighting five inspiring local organizations from the program: Safe Place for Youth (SPY), School on Wheels, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), Sisters of Watts, and Teen Line.

Safe Place for Youth (SPY) works to empower young people experiencing homelessness to thrive by providing lasting, community-driven solutions that address racial and social inequity.

School on Wheels volunteers provide free tutoring and mentoring to children from kindergarten through twelfth grade living in shelters, motels, vehicles, group foster homes, and the streets of Southern California.

Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA) enriches and empowers generations of Pilipino Americans and others by providing health and human services, community economic development, arts and culture, and a place where people of all backgrounds come together to strengthen community.

The vision of Sisters of Watts is to create a healthy, productive society where ignored, underprivileged, and underserved communities are equipped with knowledge, skills, and resources that can enable them to become self-sufficient.

Teen Line provides personal teen-to-teen education and support before problems become a crisis, using a national hotline, current technologies, and community outreach.
