Annenberg Alchemy provides free capacity building and leadership development classes designed to strengthen and support Los Angeles-based nonprofit organizations.

Annenberg Alchemy includes two phases: Leadership Seminar, Alchemy's signature course, and Alchemy+, the higher level course for graduates of Leadership Seminar who want to take their learning further. Successful completion of both programs qualifies an organization to receive a capacity building grant up to $10,000.

In 2011, Alchemy's Peer to Peer event gathered more than 1,200 nonprofit leaders, funders and government officials to salute the contributions of Los Angeles' nonprofit organizations.

Alchemy Leadership Seminar and Alchemy+ are built around the belief that staff and board leaders aligned in common purpose can transform nonprofit organizations. Therefore, for all of the Alchemy trainings, the Executive Director and Board Chair must attend all sessions together.

The 3rd annual Peer to Peer event was co-hosted by George Lopez. Also on that day, the Los Angeles City Council in conjunction with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa declared Tuesday, October 25, as Nonprofit Day in Los Angeles, a first in the city.

The nationally respected practitioners and facilitators for Alchemy address issues critical to nonprofit success and provide cutting edge strategy sessions in effective fundraising, board governance, public involvement and accountability. They share a strong commitment to social change and equity for all communities in Los Angeles.
