The Museum of Modern Art's Performance Exhibition Series Continues with Live Performances on March 7 and 8, 2009

NEW YORK, NY:  The Museum of Modern Art presents the second and third installments of its Performance Exhibition Series on March 7 and 8, 2009, with live performances dedicated to early choreographic works by Simone Forti (American, b. Italy 1935) and Yvonne Rainer (American, b. 1934)—two key figures of the 1960s minimalist dance movement who defined a new language of physical movement.

MoMA Deepens Commitment to Collecting, Preserving, and Exhibiting Performance Art Through a Range of Pioneering Initiatives

NEW YORK, NY:  The Museum of Modern Art has increased its focus on performance-based art with a range of pioneering initiatives: a new exhibition series, an ongoing series of workshops for artists and curators, major acquisitions, and a retrospective of the work of performance artist Marina Abramović in 2010.

Annenberg Foundation Grant Brings POYi Program to Los Angeles

Pictures of the Year International will receive a substantial grant from the Annenberg Foundation to host the 2009 POYi Education, Awards, and Exhibition Program at The Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles.  The grant will provide support for POYi's two-day professional development program and an educational display of award-winning photojournalism; scheduled for mid-July.

“WATER: OUR THIRSTY WORLD” EXHIBIT AT THE ANNENBERG SPACE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
IN ASSOCIATION WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE

The Annenberg Foundation is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibit at the Annenberg Space for Photography, tentatively entitled “WATER: OUR THIRSTY WORLD” in partnership with National Geographic Magazine. The exhibit, opening to the public on March 27, 2010, will coincide with the release of National Geographic's April 2010 issue on the precarious state of the world's fresh water.

Lauren Bon Raises Strawberry Flag with US Veterans
For her latest project, Lauren Bon and the Metabolic Studio are at work with U.S. veterans at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare Campus in West Los Angeles.

In an effort to bring awareness to the challenges of returning soldiers and to share the historic significance of the VA grounds, Lauren and her team have been creating a living sculpture and hands-on experience that includes veterans and the community at large.

Applications Accepted Now For Nonprofit Professional Development Program

The Annenberg Foundation is now accepting applications from qualified nonprofits in Los Angeles County for a new leadership development program named Alchemy.

Chora Council of the Metabolic Studio Announces the winner of the Chora Prize
The Chora Council, which supports the intangibles that foster creativity, is proud to announce the winner of the first Chora Prize. Artist Felicity Powell will receive $50,000 to acknowledge her fully realized project of merit and originality, an exhibition entitled Medals of Dishonour, currently at the British Museum in London through September 27, 2009.
