Annenberg Capacity Building Initiatives

The Annenberg Foundation is expanding its capacity building initiatives to offer more robust support of community based nonprofit organizations and their leaders throughout Los Angeles with the creation of its new program, Alchemy. Leadership Seminar trainings remain an integral part of Alchemy.

Historically the Foundation has offered training and assistance to nonprofit organizations as part of an ongoing effort to support the infrastructure of this important community in the Greater Los Angeles region.

Through grantseeker forums, board development/fundraising skills training and participation in industry conferences, the Foundation shares its professional resources. Program officers often participate on panels, referred to informally as Meet The Grantmakers, with Los Angeles grantseeking nonprofit leaders to better acquaint them with the Foundation and its mission. 

Alchemy
Alchemy builds on the Annenberg Foundation's 20-year track record of providing financial grants and capacity building initiatives such as the Leadership Seminar Trainings and Project Grantsmanship. To learn more about Annenberg Alchemy or to register for upcoming sessions, go to www.annenbergalchemy.org Alchemy aims to bring strength and vitality to the nonprofit sector by providing a stimulating, supportive, and collaborative professional development opportunity for Executive Directors and Board members. Alchemy is a senior-level development program designed to strengthen the role of nonprofit boards. The "cost of admission" for the seminar is the commitment of both the Executive Director and Board Chair to participate in the training sessions.

Project Grantsmanship
Project Grantsmanship is a comprehensive hands-on workshop designed to train nonprofit leaders to plan more effective programs and produce compelling proposals for funding. Project Grantsmanship is a partnership of the Annenberg Foundation, the California Community Foundation, and The Grantsmanship Center.

Peer to Peer
Peer to Peer is an annual event open to alumni of Annenberg Alchemy’s Leadership Seminar and Alchemy+. The Annenberg Foundation has designed this day-long event to both celebrate our nonprofit leaders and to inspire them to greatness through their continued professional development.
