Over $1 Million of Grants Mark the Upcoming 100 Year Anniversary of the LA Aqueduct

To mark the upcoming centenary of the Los Angeles Aqueduct (11.5.2013), the Metabolic Studio is awarding grants to the following organizations to realize projects that will bring consciousness to the impact and importance of this monumental piece of hydraulic engineering.

Metabolic Studio Open House To Introduce LA Noria

Metabolic Studio will host an open house to introduce LA Noria, the first water wheel connecting the Los Angeles River in 135 Years. 

LA Noria will bend the Los Angeles River and deliver water to the planned wetlands at the downtown Historic State Park. It will open on November 5, 2013 to commemorate the centenary of the LA Aqueduct. Learn all about it at the community open house at Metabolic Studio: 1745 North Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 on August 9, 2012 from 6pm-8pm.

Los Angeles Food Policy Council Hosts Good Food Day Event at Metabolic Studio

Metabolic Studio will be the site of Good Food Day LA on March 31, 2012.

Produced and presented by The Office of Mayor Villaraigosa and The Los Angeles Food Policy Council, the free event will feature a resource fair, food trucks, a cooking contest, live music and a panel discussion on the fight for Fair Food.

Annenberg Foundation Moves the Remaining Trees Off the South Central Farm Site

The Annenberg Foundation announced today it will begin moving the remaining trees off the South Central Farm in Los Angeles in order to save them as the developer clears the land upon which the Farm operated.

LOS ANGELES, CA:  The Annenberg Foundation announced today it will begin moving the remaining trees off the South Central Farm in Los Angeles in order to save them as the developer clears the land upon which the Farm operated.  The Annenberg Foundation, through a new initiative named Farmlab, also announced plans to develop a monument to the trees as unsung heroes of the fallen Farm.  While plans are being developed, the trees will be moved to a temporary site at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens until a permanent location is determined.
